Brief description of the activity
The competition was open to students of Class X, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their public speaking abilities and express their thoughts on a wide range of topics. All students came up with a lot of different ideas including importance of balanced diet in day to day life and even they were excited about the idea of switching healthy food and fresh home cooked food rather than packed and unhealthy food.
The event not only highlighted the exceptional speaking talents of the students but also served as a platform to nurture their confidence and ability to articulate their thoughts effectively. It encouraged the development of vital communication skills, laying the foundation for future leaders and influencers. The speech competition on malnutrition serve as a powerful platform to educate and inspire students to become advocates for positive change in combating malnutrition and improving the well-being of individuals and communities.

Brief description of the activity
A seminar on Dengue was organized by Mr. Jitender Rana Circle Incharge, Health and Malaria Inspector, MCD and his team at Ganga International School, Sawda on 7th August, 2023 with the aim of educating and empowering students to take proactive measures in preventing the spread of dengue fever. Dengue is a vector-borne disease that poses a significant public health threat, and it is crucial to raise awareness among the youth about its causes, symptoms, and prevention strategies. The workshop was designed to engage students in interactive learning activities and equip them with the knowledge to protect themselves and their communities from dengue. Students were taught various personal protection measures to reduce the risk of mosquito bites. They learned about wearing protective clothing, using mosquito repellents, and ensuring the use of mosquito nets while sleeping, especially in areas with a high incidence of dengue. |

Brief description of the activity
Ganga International School Shawda hosted an essay writing competition on December 27, 2023, shedding light on diverse forms of pollution and their ramifications on daily life and health, with a particular emphasis on dust pollution. Participants underscored key awareness points, advocating for the reduction of carbon-based fuels (coal, oil, natural gas) by both industries and vehicles. Additionally, contributors highlighted the imperative to mitigate dust emissions from construction activities and suggested the installation of efficient ventilation systems across the school premises. The prevailing consensus among the participants emphasized the need for collective efforts in curbing pollution to ensure a healthier and cleaner environment for all. The event fostered insightful discussions and raised awareness about practical measures to address the pressing issue of dust pollution. |

Brief description of the activity A Mega Plantation Drive was organised in Ganga International School, Sawda where students of class I-VIII planted hundreds of trees under the guidance of teachers and gardeners. Students learnt various techniques of planting trees. Students also learnt the process of gardening by doing in step by step. Students understood the maine aim towards SDG 15 i.e to protect, restore and promote the conservation and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. This includes efforts to sustainably manage forests and halt deforestation, combat desertification, restore degraded land and soil, halt biodiversity loss and protect threatened species. Students became sensitive about the environment and will try to spread awareness among others as well. |

The event is adorned with vibrant decorations, students to professionals, gather to put their innovative minds to the test. ● Effective Communication: The primary objective of a speech competition is to enhance students’ communication skills, both oral and written. Students are encouraged to articulate their thoughts clearly, express their ideas coherently, and improve their expressing abilities. ● Understanding biodiversity: Taking urgent and significant action to reduce the degradation of natural habitats, halt the loss of biodiversity at their level by planting more trees ● Awareness and Sensitization: The activity aims to sensitize participants and the audience about the prevalence and severity of climate change and make them aware about various actions that are the need of the hour. ● Language Proficiency: Students work on their language proficiency, including grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure, as they discuss the steps to plant trees . ● Sustainable Development Goals: Participants can be encouraged to relate the activity to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 15 ( Protect ecosystem ). ● Empathy and Social Responsibility: Through this activity, students demonstrated empathy towards ecosystem individuals and communities, fostering a sense of social responsibility to take action and make a positive impact.
Brief description of the activity
plantation activity was organized in our school to create an awareness regarding climate change and its adverse effect on us. Learning through gardening is known to be an educational strategy in which a garden is used as a teaching tool. Systematic reviews of the impact of school gardening on academic performance and dietary habits foreground the need for additional quantitative studies that would use strong experimental. After their work in the garden was concluded, the knowledge of garden in the children improved to a statistically significant degree. The children’s attitude to nature also became more positive than before they engaged in gardening activities.
